Q & A with Janet

Why play violin? Second violin is clearly where the action’s at.

How did you get interested in classical music? Wonderful parents who didn’t play themselves but gave me opportunities.

Greatest musical influence? Formative years in youth orchestra.

Favourite food? Hands down my mom’s Japanese cooking.

Outside interests? Piano, art, science, finding the answer to anything on the internet.

Favourite Composers? That’s like choosing your favourite child! Impossible!

Favourite Works? Depends on my mood, my list is long and covers many genres from funk, rock and blues
to all eras of classical.

Favourite way to relax? Laughing over a good meal with people I love.

What's a fact no one would know about you? I am a natural blonde who was born with an extra digit on my left hand
so I never have to use second position.
