GSOKids

Experience the best of the holiday season with the GSO. Registered kids and their parents will have the opportunity to take part in a 30 minute interactive workshop, led by GSO tuba player, Jon Rowsell, with a special appearance by our trumpet soloists, the Blundell family, then join us in the main hall for the second half of the concert; a fully costumed, 40 minute presentation of highlights from the Nutcracker, performed by the young artists of the Oakville Ballet.

Free to kids 6-14 and their accompanying  parent(s)

Join a fun and exciting symphonic club!

is a free symphonic club designed for children 6 -13 years of age, kindly sponsored by PrimeCare Pharmacy Arboretum. This year’s events will be held in conjunction with three different GSO concerts. Registered kids and their parents meet in the River Run Centre foyer for the first half of the concert, to hear one of our orchestra members (and sometimes even our special guest artists) give an entertaining workshop/demonstration. Then, for the second half of the concert, they were all given free tickets to join the audience and listen to what those instruments can do.

PAST EVENTS

“Meet the Musicians and their Instruments”

Periodically, during the GSO Concert Seasons, the kids (and parents) were introduced to the fascinating world of Musical Instruments by GSO musicians in the lobby of River Run Centre during the first half of a concert. They then joined the audience for the second half of the concert, to watch and hear these instruments in action.
